Today was Brooke's first day attending preschool. It was a "transition day" with the plan being that one of us would bring Brooke to class, and then sit quietly in a chair in case she needed to check in. Then go home around 11am and do the same thing tomorrow, with the first full day being Wednesday.
But we under estimated Brooke's enthusiasm! Here she is in the morning, new school clothes, sparkly shoes and er..toy horses.

They need a close up for her cubby. Check.

Baby Jack made sure that she did not forget her lunch box (where horses pictured were hiding).

Jack gave me the play by play:
Teacher: Good morning, what is your name?
Brooke: I'm Brooke, it's nice to meet you.
Teacher: Do you want to come to circle time?
Brooke: Sure (and took the teacher's hand and walked in, leaving a sentimental Dad in the hallway to follow).
Brooke loved it! So much that the teacher told Jack he could leave and just come get her at lunch.
He had to convince her to leave. In fact, she told the teacher she was going to hide - ha!
Jack took her back to Alba's while Brooke cried that she wanted to go back to preschool - amazing.
But this afternoon, when I came to pick her up and tell Alba that I think tomorrow Brooke will stay at preschool all day, making today her last real day with Alba, I was not prepared for how hard that would be to say.
Alba picked Brooke up in her arms and gave her a huge hug...and then she just slightly, started to cry. Brooke did too - like she knew. And of course, I am tearing up just writing about it.
Then like a normal 3 year old, she started singing about something and we were off to the car.
I am going with Brooke for the morning tomorrow - I can't wait to see her in action. And if tomorrow is like today...she will get stay! Sniff Sniff.
