This past week we packed up the kid and the car and headed up to Lake Tahoe for a few nights. This was our first attempt at a family vacation, and as Brooke would say, we have learned that that is a NO NO! Seriously, if you want a vacation, you CANNOT take your kids or you must bring your parents with you.

This all looks great, but really, I was just trying to keep Brooke from jumping in the water the entire time. There was no enjoying the pier and the beautiful view of Lake Tahoe early in the morning.
WAH! But it was really cool that our vacation house came with the key for the private park at Sunny Side.

Here's a pic of our little house. This deck was perfect - and totally child proof! The back deck had the hot tub - another great feature!

I love those baby blues!

Brooke and Jack actually braved the cold waters of the Lake. Even though she was shaking from the cold, she had no interest in getting out. Especially since Jack taught her how to throw rocks. Funny how ever since we have arrived home, she wants to throw ALL the rocks in our front yard.
Hmm.

The water was much nicer in the hot tub! Again, the hot tub is not nearly as relaxing when you have a little person in it who can not swim or just chill. Chill...that is a totally foreign concept to Brooke!

Brooke really enjoyed the little house we stayed in - it was very easy for her to get around and she
freaken loves this bear. Too bad it's white! She hugs it all the time, feeds it her milk and also puts it in her high chair when she is done eating. She does
occasionally throw it to the floor and yells NO! at it too - but it can't all be a bed of roses.

Brooke also LOVES to sit in chairs - so I caved in and bought her her own. She sits in it with her bear or a book and loves to lay on it. God she looks comfy.

It was great to get away, enjoy Sunny Side, a hike with Brooke and a run along the bike path and Lake Tahoe. Brooke was a trooper on the drive up and on the way home and Jack and I are ready for a babysitter. Please post your comment with your date and time availability. Thanks.

This looks so great!! Loving the little cabin and the deck/hot tub. When can I go? My availability is evenings after 6 or October if you prefer a weekend.
Love all of the pics! The one of you guys on the dock is great! And at least it wasn't SNOWING like when we went in MAY. Ha!
