The Email You Never Want to Get

For all my fellow mom's - the weekly Babycenter.com email during your pregnancy is nothing new. Every week the email is titled: Your Baby at "x" weeks. It's full of good info and even for baby #2 it's been a good refresher.
Today I got the email that no pregnant woman really wants: Your Baby at 40 Weeks!! What the?? And the subject of the text you ask? Mostly it was focused on the facts around what happens when you have to induce labor.
Seriously? After having contractions at 32 weeks and being put on a modified work schedule since then and not even being able to go on a walk until I hit 37 weeks...now this kid is going to go OVER his due date!
In all seriousness, I am very thankful that this little guy has hung in there long enough to get fully cooked - even if he is taking his sweet time.
I have contractions on a nightly basis - so every night there is at least a solid hour where I think "this is it" and then, it's not. My doctor keeps saying "Any day" and jokes that she will book an appointment with me for the next week, but probably won't see me. Joke is on her!
She even tried to scare me by saying that she really hopes for my sake that the baby comes this week because she thinks he is big. Little does she know that it's just the layer of blubber covering my whole body. I bet this guy weighs less than 8lbs.
Ok - time to start timing my contractions for the night - lets hope we get this show on the road before I get an email that says: Your Baby at 41 weeks....

The only person I know who loved a fully-cooked baby more is the SERRANO CHILI PEPPER!
